The Pet Parlor — Dog Grooming & Bath in Goleta, California

Every good dog deserves a standing appointment.

One at a Time

Your dog is the only dog in the shop. No kennel bank, no waiting your turn in a crate.

Cage‑Free, Always

Bath to bow without a locked door. Hand‑dried, hand‑finished, never left to a cage dryer.

The Same Hands

You book a groomer, not a rotation. The same person learns your dog and keeps the notes.

The Parlor

A quiet room, a good haircut, and a dog who is glad to come back.

The Pet Parlor is a one‑chair grooming salon a few blocks from the water in Goleta. It was built around a simple idea: most dogs do not mind being groomed — they mind being rushed, crated, and handed between strangers. So we took all of that out.

Appointments are spaced so that no two dogs overlap. Every coat is hand‑dried and finished with shears rather than run through a bank of blowers. Nervous dogs, senior dogs, and first‑haircut puppies get the extra half hour they need without anyone glancing at the clock.

Meet Us

The Card

Services

Priced by coat, not by breed. Bring us a matted doodle or a wash‑and‑go beagle — we will quote it honestly before we start.

The Visit

Four hours, four steps, one dog.

A full groom takes two to four hours depending on coat. We will text you when your dog is drying so you are never guessing.

I

Arrive

Drop‑off is by appointment, not a queue. We go over the cut you want, run a hand through the coat, and agree on the price before you leave.

II

Bath & Dry

A warm two‑lather bath, ears and eyes cleaned, then hand‑dried and brushed straight. This is where a good haircut is actually made.

III

The Cut

Clipper work, then scissored by hand around the face, feet and tail. Nails trimmed, pads cleared, sanitary tidied.

IV

Home

A bow or a bandana, a photograph for your records, and notes on the coat so the next visit starts where this one left off.

Before You Come

Questions

What vaccinations do you require?
Current rabies and DHPP for every dog, and bordetella within the last twelve months. Send a photo of the record ahead of your first visit and we will keep it on file. [Confirm this matches your actual policy.]
How long will my dog be with you?
Two to four hours for a full groom. Because we take one dog at a time, there is no all‑day wait — we start when you arrive and you pick up when we are done.
My dog is matted. What happens?
We will tell you honestly. A light mat brushes out; a tight, pelted coat does not, and hours of dematting hurts. In that case we recommend a short shave‑down, explain why, and let it grow back on a schedule that keeps it from happening again.
Do you groom senior or anxious dogs?
Yes, and they are some of our favorites. Tell us at booking and we will schedule extra time, keep the session short, and split the work across two visits if that is what your dog needs. We do not use sedation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Twenty‑four hours’ notice, please. Because the chair is held for one dog only, a late cancellation is a lost appointment for someone else. [Confirm your real policy and any fee.]
Do you groom cats?
[Answer this one — the name says “Pet Parlor,” so people will ask.]
